How do we express a future without war as we know it? Is it possible to imagine the seemingly impossible? Could we redesign war for the benefit of all? We can’t seem to end the fighting. War seems inevitable, so reinterpreting it could be vital to our future.

Futuract takes the theme ‘Design 2050: Possibilities for Tomorrow’ in a very serious manner and offers a take on redesigning the unthinkable—a future where war is playful, educational, nurturing and dare we say, fun!

About Futuract

Futuract is an interactive design studio that provides solutions for generative, experiential and participatory installations to the artistic, commercial and entertainment markets. Futuract has provided interactive solutions for clients such as the Nanyang Technological University Museum and is developing a range of interesting solutions for new and existing clients.

As a creative studio, we understand that nurturing a future of Singaporean creativity is paramount for the survival of not only our own practice, but also the state of innovation for the entire country. In order to expand the perception of interactive art and design within the Singaporean population, Futuract is developing an Open Laboratory with Jurong Junior College so people can come together and learn about this exciting, emerging, creative industry.

The Singapore Design Festival 2009 is Futuract’s first public endeavour on the international design scene. We are proud to represent locally-grown, Singapore interactive design and are honoured to stand shoulder to shoulder with our admired peers.
