Singapore Design Festival 2007

Synopsis:

30 November promises interesting and inspiring encounters with international guests from design, culture, and business. Out of 884 entries from 46 countries, you will be introduced to the 123 concepts that impressed our jury with their innovation and fresh take on the future of our product culture.

At the ceremony, the red dot: luminary, the single most exceptional entry out of the entire competition will be announced. The LANXESS prize - 2 prizes worth USD7, 500 each – will also be given out. Sponsored by LANXESS Pte Ltd, these 2 winning concepts will be developed into commercially viable products.

Following the ceremony, a yearlong exhibition of the winning concepts will open, showcasing the winning entries and prototypes, seen for the first time.

About the Red Dot Design Award

The international “red dot design award” ranks among the largest and most renowned design competitions in the world. It is divided into the “red dot award: product design”, the “red dot award: communication design” and the “red dot award: design concept.” The numbers speak for themselves: the red dot design award attracted almost 6,000 submissions from 52 countries in 2006 alone. The award is as a seal of quality: it stands for membership of the best in design and business.

The “red dot award: design concept” centres on design concepts, on ideas and visions that are new, creative and exciting. The competition distinguishes truly creative achievements and thus pays tribute to the high potential of young, up-and-coming creative talents, designers and design companies around the world.
